Friends of Morecambe Winter Gardens

If you feel like you can help make a difference why not get involved and join over 200 (and counting!) Friends?

Who are we?

The Friends of the Winter Gardens are responsible for keeping the building and its memories alive, and anyone wanting to be a part of the venue’s future is encouraged to get in touch. Though they’ve been in existence for over three decades, it wasn’t until February 2006, when the friends established Morecambe Winter Gardens Preservation Trust to purchase from the then owners Barnfield Construction. The Friends have one aim for the building and that is to preserve and restore one of Morecambe’s most important venues.

The Friends of the Winter Gardens would, of course, be thrilled to hear from you.

We’re always looking for people who are keen to give up their time (in the day or during the evening) to a worthy, volunteer-led cause like ours. The rewards for working in such a renowned building like the Winter Gardens are many; you’ll be helping to keep the spirit of the property well and truly alive while meeting a friendly group who’ll make you feel part of something really special.

Why Volunteer

From helping out at our Friday evening paranormal group to lending a hand to those with learning difficulties, you can bring your unique skills to the venue and maybe find a new hobby or meet a new friend along the way.

More the Merrier

We operate on a ‘more the merrier’ basis; anyone and everyone is welcome to help. You just need the willingness to get stuck in at a time to suit you.

you decide

You could help by serving customers behind our cafe, or serving drinks at the bar; ours is a community-run venue and we rely on kind-hearted volunteers to keep the building ticking along.

On top of that, we’re always open to fundraising ideas too. We’d love to have you onboard in whatever capacity that may be.
