He is a local historian, has been a Member of the Friends of the Midland Hotel, Slyne with Hest Local History Society and Member of the Friends. He has also served on Slyne with Hest Parish Council for twenty-five years and worked as a Manager in the Charity sector.

I am a retired training officer and have been involved with the winter gardens for about thirty five years. At the moment I am a joint secretary on the committee. I was part of the original group that was set up to try and save the theatre.

Garry is our new Treasurer. He spent his entire career in banking working in branches, as a trainer with a strong emphasis on customer service and in the bank’s internal IT Help Desk. He is passionate about theatre and has already been one of our volunteers during the last 12 months along with his partner. Garry is a keen motorcyclist and enjoys gardening and theatre. He also has a 3 year old German Shepherd called Zak.

Although not Morecambe born and bred, Lesley has lived and worked in the area since 1976 and come to know and love it well. She was a founder member of the Friends of the Midland Hotel, helping to save one of Morecambe’s iconic buildings. Now part of the Winter Gardens, team she hopes that it too can have a successful future at the heart of the community.

A retired Geography lecturer, Barry has worked in the area since the early 1970s. He was a founder member and Treasurer of the Friends of the Midland Hotel which campaigned successfully for the re-opening of the Winter Gardens’ close neighbour. He has written a book about the hotel and, with Lesley, an illustrated history of Bolton-le-Sands, the village where they live. He is keen to make a contribution towards the continuing restoration of the historic Winter Gardens theatre.

Digital & Technical Coordinator

Kieron is our Digital and Technical Coordinator and currently is the youngest Trustee. If he’s not volunteering he’s either filming his next commision, editing for a client or working on our website. He is passionate in what he does. He is a keen photographer. He a Film Maker & Editor by trade.  Kieron is always on hand to help he has been volunteering with us for the past 18 months.

As the Digital and Technical Coordinator, Kieron ensures that all technical equipment is functional and also maintains our website and social media platforms.

Being part of the Winter Gardens I feel blessed every day to be working along side some wonderful people in a magnificent building. I have been in the hospitality business for many many years, as a chef, assistant manager and currently working in Holiday Ownership Industry as European Trainer. Love the theatre. Classic movies of the silver screen and Elvis Presley.

Iain is one of our new trustees. He trained as a Theatrical Costumier and has always had a passionate interest in all things theatre related. Iain worked making costumes for many years in a number of repertory theatres in the North West.
He is a keen motorcyclist with his partner and enjoys gardening.
