Our doors are always open
Our doors are always open for schools and group bookings – and there’s a number of options available for anyone who wants to see the Winter Gardens in all its glory. From guided tours for interested members of the public, to educational visits for children, we’ll happily accommodate you and your requests. We’ve access to free and convenient parking, admission price is low (school children are free of charge) and we have even completed a risk assessment for teachers.
There is no minimum visitor number for a group booking. Larger groups are spilt up into smaller divisions (usually of about 10 – 15 people) as they tour around.
Visitors are advised to wear warm, comfortable clothing and sensible shoes. Tours last around an hour and there’s also time for a Q&A with the tour guide, as well as a break for free tea or coffee. While they’re generally available for morning bookings, tours can be arranged for a time that suits your group.
Feel free to bring your lunch, too, and you’ll be pleased to discover there’s a drivers’ rest area (as well as a free hot drink, and cake or biscuit) for those bringing visitors to and from the venue.
Taking place most mornings during the week, our school tours work in much the same way as the guided ones we offer here at The Winter Gardens.
There is free and easy coach parking – simply pull up outside the front door and our friendly and enthusiastic guides will welcome the children. Rest assured that this is a fun and safe day out for all. Once the children are inside, coach drivers can move their vehicle to the free car park behind Morrisons, as well as enjoy a free hot drink or cake on us!
Please note: we undertake regular risk assessments to give teachers peace of mind at all times. Teachers and group organisers are also welcome to come in for a free familiarisation visit; pop in and see us to discover exactly what you and your class can expect – all completely free of charge.
Schools must be pre-booked only and taken around the venue from Monday to Friday and in the mornings only. Remember school visits are FREE of charge.
