The Morecambe Winter Gardens Preservation Trust Ltd was formed in 2006 in order to purchase the building.
There are three trustees all who are passionate about the Winter Gardens building and the regeneration of Morecambe.
Professor Vanessa Toulmin
Professor Vanessa Toulmin is the Chair of Early Film and Popular Entertainment at the University of Sheffield, an historian and international expert of Film & Popular Entertainment. Vanessa is currently acting chair of The Winter Gardens Preservation Trust. Vanessa Toulmin was born into a fairground family which operated the Winter Gardens fairground, some of her fondest memories where watching her aunt preform on stage at the Winter Gardens Theatre as an contortionist. Vanessa is the author of 14 books on the history of Fairgrounds, Circus and Early Film and Popular Entertainment.
Susan Lomax has spent most of her working life in the customer service industry, when she retired it gave her to opportunity to volunteer in the many different and varied areas in her community, this included being a Parish Councillor. Susan also believes that this has given her character and insight to continue and support the causes that she is passionate about, but also to encourage and inspire others.
Martin Shenton is an health and safety consultant, an accident investigator, has been a professional stunt performer with over 20 years under his belt, this is through performing as stunt doubles for film and television dramas he has also gained over 25 years of experience and knowledge in the film and theatre industry. Currently the owner of Regent Park Studios which is a sport & stunt school. As for now he specialises in Film, TV and Commercial set health and safety stunt coordination.
