Trustees

The Morecambe Winter Gardens Preservation Trust Ltd was formed in 2006 in order to purchase the building. There are three trustees all who are passionate about the Winter Gardens building and the regeneration of Morecambe.

Evelyn Archer

Evelyn has been the chairman of the Friends of the Winter Gardens since its formation in 1986, and has devoted her time helping to safeguard the theatre. Evelyn is also the Chair of the Trust and works in the office full time.
A member of Lancaster City Council for 12 years, she helped to form a Town Council for Morecambe and for part of that time was a Cabinet member for Regeneration. She also ran a busy guest house in Morecambe for 13 years.

Mike Burrel

Mike is a Volunteer Trustee of Morecambe Winter Gardens and he had held this position for the last four years. During this time he has witnessed many changes, all for the better.
Mike moved to Morecambe in 2001 and served as a Morecambe Councillor for two years. He has been married for 25 years and has 4 grown up children, 4 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.

Mike would like to take this opportunity to thank the Friends of the Winter Gardens for all their support and help to make these positive changes possible.

Roger Muckle

Roger joined the Board of the Winter Gardens Preservation Trust Ltd in June 2014. Roger began his career at Lancaster City Council as a Local Government officer. He is a qualified accountant and before his retirement in 2010 was the City Council’s Corporate Director of Finance and Performance.
He is married with 2 daughters and has lived in the Lancaster and Morecambe area all his life.
